College Fashion Week x Ulta Beauty | 2018

Sunday, November 4, 2018

Hey there! 👋
I had the amazing opportunity to attend College Fashion Week two weeks ago with Ulta Beauty and I couldn't wait to tell you guys about it. Before I go into the event itself, here are a few of the products I ended up using to get ready for College Fashion Week:

This year's College Fashion Week was held at City Point Brooklyn, which is a new shopping and food destination located in Downtown Brooklyn. At the event, there were booths from each of the sponsors including Primark style rooms, an EOS ball pit, Almay product testing, Sabre photobooth and Ulta beauty/hair styling! In addition to the booths, there was an array of snacks and a bar to quench your cravings.

I ended up getting my hair styled at the Ulta Beauty Booth. They styled my hair in this bobby pin design inspired by NYFW Spring '18. This hair style was bold and fun and added extra flair to my outfit for the night.

The runway included apparel from Primark, HCXO Shop,  Ali & Ariel, Feminist Goods and Sleep Riot. After watching the show, I wanted to buy a bunch of the pieces showcased as they were all so cute.

This post is brought to you by Ulta Beauty and Her Campus Media. Thank you to Her Campus and Ulta Beauty for allowing me to attend College Fashion Week!

Almay Cosmic Collection Review

Sunday, August 12, 2018

After coming across the Almay Goddess Gloss, my lips have never felt more moisturized. The glosses are never sticky, hypoallergenic and fragrance-free. There are eight different shades available and each shade is highly pigmented and has the perfect amount of shine. I like these glosses because they aren't sticky like other glosses I've used. They also come in these amazing shades including a white named 'Halo' and a bronzy nude named 'Cosmic'.

My favorite has to be the shade Angelic. I enjoy using this shade because it's a light pink and matches all of my makeup looks. The glosses don't require a lipstick underneath because they're pretty pigmented. When using the Almay Goddess Gloss, I like to do a neutral eye look with some glitter shadow. To add some highlighter to my cheekbones, I use the Almay Make Them Jelly Hi-Lite in the shade 'Unicorn Light.' This highlighter brightens up my skin and leaves me looking refreshed.

After completing the look, I'm ready to take on the day! I bring my Goddess Gloss with me to add some gloss throughout the day.
Thank you to Her Campus and Almay for sponsoring this blog post.

Aeropostale x Her Campus Shopping Event

Wednesday, November 22, 2017

Hey there!
This past week I had the opportunity to attend the Her Campus x Aeropostale shopping event at the Manhattan Mall in New York City. As someone who shopped at Aeropostale mostly in their teens, I was shocked to see how the brand has evolved! They have a wide selection of trendy and simple pieces which is perfect for people in their teens and early 20s. Here are some of my favorite pieces from Aeropostale for this current season:

Tie-Back Jumpsuit

This jumpsuit is great for when you want to dress up but want to feel comfortable at the same time. I would totally rock this with a turtleneck layered underneath.

Solid Off-The-Shoulder Velvet Dress

This dress is the perfect color for the upcoming holiday season and it's velvet, which is so in style right now!

Velvet Moto Jacket

This velvet moto jacket makes a great statement. You can pair it with jeans or a flowy dress.

Event Recap:

The candy bar was probably my favorite part about the event. They had so many of my favorites! I feel like I'm always in a rush so I hadn't eaten a solid meal before the event. (my mistake) Thankfully the candy helped me through it.

I ended up finding a ton of awesome things at the store and even bought some things for my younger sister for Christmas so it was the perfect time to get some early Christmas shopping done. I feel like my sister and I have such similar taste in clothing so we share a lot of things and it makes it easier for me to shop for her!

I'm excited to see how Aeropostale continues to evolve as a brand!

Thanks for reading!

GRWM | College Fashion Week 2017 x Bedhead Styling

Friday, September 29, 2017

Hey there!
College Fashion Week NYC is coming up this weekend and I wanted to share my getting ready routine with you guys! This will be my third year attending CFW and I'm super excited to see what's to come! *Fun fact: The first year I attended College Fashion Week I actually walked in the show and it was such a cool experience. I felt so special getting my makeup and hair done. I'm so thankful to have been able to attend last year and this upcoming year as a blogger covering the event.

For my makeup, I kept it pretty simple. I used Makeup Forever HD Foundation, NYX Dark Circle Concealer, Glossier Wowder, NYX Blush and It Cosmetics Mascara.

I partnered with Bed Head Styling and Her Campus for this post and in the video below I'm going to be showing you how I curl my hair with the Bedhead Curlipops Hair Curler! My go to hairstyle is wavy curls so this curling iron was perfect for me. Bedhead has been one of my favorite hair tool brands for years now so I enjoyed trying out this curling iron by them.

Thanks for reading and stay tuned for a recap on my experience at College Fashion Week!

Hair Must Haves | Bed Head by TIGI x Her Campus (Her Conference)

Monday, July 31, 2017

This post is brought to you by Bed Head by TIGI and Her Campus Media

Last week I had the honor of attending Her Campus' Her Conference in New York City. I attended Her Conference as a Her Campus correspondent and was able to get my hair styled as well as bring a few of the Bed Head by TIGI products home to test out! These products have quickly become my favorites when styling my hair because you don't need to use heat when styling your hair with them. (I'm a pretty simple gal when it comes to hair products, so these are perfect for me!)Of the products were the Bed Head Masterpiece Shine Hairspray, Bed Head After-Party Cream and the Bed Head Get Twisted Finishing Spray.

The Bed Head team styled my hair in this side part half up do with a twist. I have a side part already so this style worked well with my hair! They twisted my hair and applied the Bed Head Get Twisted Finishing Spray which made my hair wavy and it stayed like that for the rest of the day!

I felt so lucky to be getting my hair done, the activation was just like a regular salon experience but more fun! After getting my hair done, I headed to panels and workshops then ate a yummy Shake Shack lunch. (my fave)

Thank you to Her Campus and Bed Head by TIGI for allowing me to attend Her Conference!

My Night Routine | AcneFree

Thursday, July 27, 2017

*This post has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and AcneFree. All opinions are mine alone. #AcneFreeSummer #CollectiveBias

I end my days with this AcneFree 24 Hour Acne Clearing System, which is a three step system that cleanses my pores and refreshes my skin. I'm a simple minded person when it comes to skincare so this three step kit makes it so easy to apply the products one after another. It includes Oil-free Purifying Cleanser, Renewing Toner and Repair Lotion. After long days at work, this set is perfect to use because the products go together so well. This three step set runs for $20, which is a steal. You can pick yours up at Walgreens, Amazon or Walmart!

Living in a big city can raise exposure to pollutants which can cause dryness and dark spots in skin. On average, the pollution index reaches 1000, which is 50x higher than the World Health Organization recommended levels. This is why I always try to take care of my skin after spending days out and about. On an everyday basis, I typically like to apply cleanser, toner and lotion and occasionally a mask. The Advanced Micro-Benzoyl Peroxide allows these products to work fast and stronger when applied to the skin on a daily basis.

The Acnefree Therapeutic Sulfur Mask helps soothe acne-inflamed skin and absorb excess oils. It has a minty tingle that refreshes the skin and creates a spa like experience with the small beads inside the mask! I like doing this mask twice a week on days when my skin really needs a boost. (I love face masks so sometimes I do it more than needed) An added benefit is that you only have to leave it on for 5-10 minutes.

After finishing up my skincare routine, I usually eat a quick snack and binge some Netflix, my current favorites include How to Get Away With Murder, Friends and Scandal.

Are you looking for a great skin care product this summer? Try the AcneFree line of products! (Click below to shop)

How I Stay Moisturized

Friday, March 4, 2016

Hey everyone!
Today I'm going to be talking about how I stay moisturized. My skin is neither dry nor oily naturally, but I use self tanner that drys out my skin. There aren't many steps to my routine. First I like to exfoliate my skin before applying self tanner, then I apply lotion after. This way my skin stays nice and soft. The two products that I use are complete lifesavers! They are Jergen's Oatmeal body scrub and lotion. I've used Jergen's for as long as I can remember. It works great and you can find it easily at the drugstore. St. Ive's products are made from natural ingredients that are known to boost and reveal skin's natural radiance. The scrub runs for about five dollars and the lotion goes for six dollars. They both smell amazing. I love oatmeal so these products are perfect for me. Oatmeal has many health benefits because it contains nutrients that are known to give your body energy.

I've also included a recipe of this tasty oatmeal bowl. It's a perfect breakfast or mid day snack when you don't have much time to make a full meal. You can make it yourself or pick one up at OATMEALS NY (120 W 3rd street)

Ingredients:
Oats
Pears
Almonds
Apricots
Cranberries
Crystallized ginger
Honey
